While looking for something else on the ‘net yesterday, I stumbled across some of the research that Microsoft are doing to improve the user interface of windows.

The VIBE site includes a number of interesting projects and papers.

One of the most interesting ideas - and one that would be immediately useful to many power users - is that of the GroupBar, a development of the Taskbar that allows for much improved management of multiple windows.

I’d love to have the Groupbar available now!
